BRL HAS A GRAND NEW HOME!
HELP US BY DONATING TO OUR HEADQUARTERS RENOVATION PROJECT…
As we enter this NEW ERA, we call upon our community here in Oakland and beyond for support. Beats Rhymes and Life needs funds to secure and develop a 1,500 square foot Oakland space located at the base of Lake Merritt, near Grand Lake Theater. Once remodeled and furnished, this facility will serve as our national headquarters, administrative home and training facility. It will also provide an supplemental space for programming and small events. Starting December 1st 2012, BRL will begin the remodeling phase which will take several months to complete.
Above are some pictures of our future home (you can also view them on Facebook here: BRL HQ). As you can see from the pictures, this space needs a lot of work. Luckily, BRL is no stranger to hard work and maximizing resources. We started our humble organization from scratch over 8 1/2 years ago with nothing more than a dream and sweat equity. The beauty of our future home is that it, like many of our youth, has been overlooked because of it’s challenges (the space has been vacant for over five years due to costly repairs). But where others see defect, BRL sees possibility and greatness.
Checks or money orders can be sent to: 3622 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610
Thank You for your support in securing our home!
